First Skydive!!

(There is no audio currently because of the song being played in the background (Disturbed -- Down with the Sickness). Youtube removed it since the song is copyrighted. I will fix that soon)

Sunday, May 31st 2009 -- Acampo (Lodi), CA ~~ This is my very first skydive (only skydive so far). It was a tandem jump with an instructor at the skydive place. All I can say is this was an amazing experience. The first 10-15 seconds was almost overwhelming, but once my body got over the initial shock of jumping out of the plane it was just a mind blowing moment.

The flight up to 13,000 feet took about 10 minutes. My tandem partner and I were first ones on the plane and last out since we had a camera guy with us. There is no time to think about what’s about to happen as you shuffle towards the door. Then you JUMP!!!! It takes a few to catch your breath. We free fell for about 60 seconds moving at about 124MPH!! Once the chute is deployed it’s a quiet drift down back to Earth. The only noise you hear is the rustling of the canopy overhead. The landing was very smooth and I had a great instructor and a wild camera guy!!

Words can’t describe… and as much as I knew it was going to be an extreme experience, it was 1000 times more than I could have ever expected. Will I do it again… definitely!!

Whoa dude what the hell?! That’s friggin crazy. I always wanted to skydive but I’ve never actually grown a pair to really do it. Its one of those “someday” goals but I’ve heard its insane!!! Was it expensive? How long did you train for? Let me know!

It was a tandem jump, so the training took 5 minutes, plus there was a video to watch while we were waiting. the video was maybe 15-20 minutes long.

I paid $100 for the jump and $55 for the camera guy. So not a bad deal!!

    Whoohoo!! Go baby go!!

    I love you :)
